QuickBooks Error code 80029c4a bothering you ?

Having startup issues and the window screen shows QuickBooks Error code 80029c4a?

The error message says- “there was an unexpected error reported while trying to run QB with the company file “xxxx.”

The error usually occurs when the company file has got corrupted or cannot be located. Another factor that might cause the error can be that your “Antivirus has incorrectly marked a QB desktop file as being infected with a virus.

 Solution 1- Perform a “Windows repair” of QuickBooks

  • Shut down QuickBooks
  • Select the “Windows” option
  • Go to the “Control panel.”
  • Select “Uninstall or change the program.”
  • Select QuickBooks from the list
  • Select “Uninstall/change.”
  • In the installation window “click next.”
  • Choose “Repair” and click “Next.”
  • Select the Choose button at the bottom
  • Click FINISH
  • Reboot your computer and open QuickBooks to check its opening normally.

Solution 2- Do a “clean install of QB Desktop.”

  • Shut QuickBooks
  • Select the “Windows” button
  • Open the “Control panel.”
  • Select “uninstall or change program.”
  • Select QB from the list
  • In the QB installation window-click next
  • Choose Uninstall and click “Next.”
  • Select “Uninstall” at the bottom
  • Click “FINISH” after the uninstall is completed. QuickBooks should now be removed from your computer
  • Now download the “QB Clean Install Tool” and save in your computer
  • Open “QuickBooks Clean Install Utility”
  • Accept the agreement and select your version
  • Next select “continue.”
  • Select “OK” when you see the message – “QB is now ready for clean install & please install to the default directory.”
  • Download the “most recent update of QB” as per your country
  • Install the “downloaded version.”
  • Follow the on-screen instructions & keep your “License and Product” info alongside.
  • After the installation is finished, “Reboot” your computer
  • Open QuickBooks and verify if its opening normally

Solution 3-Evaluate the Anti-virus software to check improper quarantine of QuickBooks DLL library files.

There were few instances reported where a certain antivirus software had quarantined certain QuickBooks files. In such a scenario consult your “anti-virus” software documentation or the seek technical support to check your anti-virus program for the quarantined files.

Note: These files might have been quarantined while “installation or updates to the QB application. So, one can be more careful during installation or updates to prevent the issue.

QuickBooks errors can be annoying and time-consuming to solve. Above provided solutions should be able to solve the issue, however, if you are unable to solve it on your own, it is highly recommended to talk to a technical expert and solve the issue.

If the above given solution does not solve the problem, try a clean install of QuickBooks.
